The Ferner family shares their positive experience having their son Kilian treated for clubfoot using the Ponseti Method with Dr. John Herzenberg at the Rubin Institute for Advanced Orthopedics at Sinai Hospital. The Ponseti Method is a treatment that corrects clubfoot by using casts, a tenotomy–(cutting of the Achilles tendon), and bracing with special shoes called boots that are connected by a bar. Dr. Herzenberg is one of the world’s leading experts on the Ponseti method for clubfoot treatment, and one of the first pediatric orthopedists outside of Ponseti’s home state of Iowa to start using Dr. Ponseti’s method.
